Walter Rauschenbusch addresses the rise of the Social Gospel movement in A Theology for the Social Gospel. He advances the idea that the kingdom of God is central to social gospel and the growth of theology in modern times. WALTER RAUSCHENBUSCH (1861-1918) was an American Christian theologian, author, and Baptist minister. He is best known for his influence on Christianity in impressing upon Christians the importance of their social obligations to others (helping the poor, fighting for the betterment of society, etc.) and spreading the Kingdom of God by living a Christlike life.
