Phrases like hard-working and down-to-earth may be cliché and over used when describing rock bands, but when you attribute them to Ashes Remain and the blue-collar way in which they approach the band's mission and calling it seems like no other descriptors adequately fit. "We were built for this," says lead vocalist Josh Smith. "This is our place in what God is doing in this world."
Let The Light In is a defiant, powerful record that tows the line between being accessible and one-of-a-kind. "All Of Me", the album's lead single, is anthem celebrating our relationship with God. "We need to realize that we serve a God who knows and sees it all" says Smith. "He knows our best, He knows our worst, and He wants us to bring it all to Him. He's a God of grace, and He's a God of mercy. He knows we're broken, that's why He died on the cross. He knows we're imperfect, and our righteousness comes from Him and Him alone. We need to break the habit of only bringing God our best moments and futilely hiding our worst. We don't need to be afraid. We need to approach the throne of grace with confidence and bring God the broken pieces of our lives. That's what He wants and that's why we wrote the song 'All Of Me.'"
