Away From Home

When you're sixteen, everything is momentous.

That's what Mabel's best friend Sarah Jane tells her as they begin their first year of school at the academy in town. Away from their farm homes and families for the first time, the two girls must contend with a new school, new acquaintances, and new ways of doing things.

And Sarah Jane is right. Whether it's wearing bloomers for physical culture class, mustering the courage to invite young men to an evening social event, or helping the housekeeper with a routine task, the two friends have a way of making "momentous moments" out of anything. Mabel and Sarah Jane rise to each occasion with their usual measure of hilarity, anguish, and newfound insights, all the while learning more of what it means to place one's trust in God.
