We were created to live in relationship with others. John Donne said, "No man is an island," pointing to the interconnectedness we have with each other. And while it’s true that you and I live in some relationship with all those around us, good relationships are not automatic. The truth is that relationships take work. Because two people work at the same place or live in the same house does not automatically mean there is a strong relationship between the two. Just as the right glue can create a tight bond between two objects, there are certain things we can do to create a strong bond with another person. This study unpacks six "bonding agents" that can be used to create a strong connection between people, whether they are family members, coworkers, friends, or neighbors.
