Highlighting the holiday season down through the years, this book highlights through historical and period pieces, the holidays as we know them. This is classic Americana from the nation’s own library. From early photographs of the Thanksgiving Season including turkey raffles in turn-of-the-century Iowa and early Thanksgiving maskers (later known as Halloween trick-or-treaters) to holiday shopping on Fifth Avenue in 1895 to shopping on the streets of small town Georgia in the 1940s.  From Victorian St. Nick to post-war department store Santas. From skating on the Hudson River in 1912 to 1930s ski lodges in Vermont, to the New Years Eve in Little Italy in the 1950s.

Subjects include Thanksgiving, Toys, Shopping, Travel, Decorating, Charity & Faith, Santa, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Winter Sports, and Happy New Year. (see photos attached).
