As a child George struggles with a physical disability, doesn't get along with others and dislikes school. Life at home with a difficult stepfather and long work hours at the Inn don't give him peace or happiness. Even when he leaves for Oxford and joins the holy club, they can't offer answers. Will he ever find peace? When he thinks he found his life's calling in the American colonies, his co-laborers, Charles and John Wesley, abandon him. Does God genuinely want to use him... or not? Carolyn Hearing, teacher, homeschool mom, and author, has a burden for students to understand the hearts of well-known Christian servants, not just the dates they lived. She taught K-6 in public and Christian Schools for over 20 years and homeschooled two daughters 6 years. When teaching American History, she discovered a lack of age-level appropriate material about George Whitefield for elementary students. The idea of merging fiction and history sparked her interest. Her foray into writing also includes articles and short stories, one of which won the ACSI Golden Award. She and her husband, Jim, a retired pastor, live in South Carolina. They enjoy time with their two adult daughters.
