The gruesome discovery of a body on London's Hampstead Heath, that has lain undisturbed for 40 years, gives newly promoted DI Sam Cooper his first murder investigation. He finds a number of disappearances over many years that seem connected, but is this too much of a coincidence? His search takes him back to a troubled Paris of 1968, and a tragic accident.
