Mater Eucharistae
is the first ever recording for The Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother of the
Eucharist. This debut release includes original compositions of their own
reflecting the Dominican spirituality that they follow. Also included are
the ancient chants/hymns typically sung in their community. About half of
this recording is a capella and the other half features organ and trumpet
by the sisters.
There visibility is high due to their multiple guest appearances on The
Oprah Show, and having received extensive publicity in the US and Canada
through outlets such as The New York Times, The Detroit Free Press, The
Washington Post, CNN, Fox News and beyond.
The Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist was founded 15 years
ago. They have 110 sisters in the community. They teach in schools all over
the US. They sing the Divine Office throughout the day and also compose
music of their own. They follow a rule of life according to St. Dominic
while very much engaging the modern world. Their Mother House is in Ann
Arbor, however they have missions all throughout the country.
